"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we don't see."
-Hebrews 11:1
Pastor Mike commented today on the limitations we sometimes place on God:
Now I think about the times in my life when I've been involved in making plans for a corporation and for a government entity and for churches, and I cringe at the number of times someone in the group, sometimes me, uttered those defeatist words, "It can't be done." For me, that is especially discouraging to hear in God's house.
We spend so much time putting limitations on God, don't we? We think God can only do the things we've already seen him do, and yet, the first verse of today's passage told us that faith is assurance about what we don't see.
Pastor Mike asks some very good questions:
What are the things God wants us, as a church, to do?
Where does our faith need to lead us in this season?
On August 20, 2022, the church is holding an EnVision exercise at which we will attempt to answer these questions and more. We are excited to define our future together and how we can become more meaningful to the community around us.
